Wildlife Works Carbon / Rukinga, Kenya The Rukinga Wildlife Sanctuary project is estimated to avoid the emission of over 3.5 Million metric tonnes of CO2e which would have been emitted due to slash and burn deforestation over the 20 year project life, or approximately 175,000 metric tonnes per year across the Carbon Pools of Above and Belowground Biomass, and Soil Carbon. -
Wildlife Works Carbon / Kasigau Corridor, Kenya The Kasigau Corridor REDD project is the first ever to be issued Voluntary Carbon Units (VCUs) for REDD under the Voluntary Carbon Standard (VCS), the most widely used carbon accounting standard among projects issuing credits in the voluntary market. -
Metareilá Association / Surui Forest, Amazon The Surui Forest Carbon Project is an initiative led by the Metareilá Association, which works to defend and preserve the autonomy and the cultural and territorial heritage of the Surui people: a tribe of roughly 1,300 members, who were first contacted less than 50 years ago. -
Forest Carbon Offsets / Belize Forest Carbon Offsets was established to assist landowners and companies with forest licenses or concessions to document, register, and commercialize the carbon sequestration services of their property. The Bull Run Forest Carbon Project encompasses 666.3 ha of broadleaf forest and includes significant populations of globally rare biodiversity. -
BioCarbon Awacachi / Ecuador BioCarbon’s Awacachi Corridor Project in the Esmeraldas region of Ecuador aims to conserve 10,000 ha of unique Chocó rainforest from deforestation and degradation. Located in one of the most biologically diverse regions of the planet, the project creates a crucial biological corridor between the Cotacachi-Cayapas Ecological Reserve and the Awá Indigenous Reserve. -
Wildlife Alliance / Southern Cardamom, Cambodia Wildlife Alliance is the founding developer of the Southern Cardamom REDD+ Project in the second largest contiguous rainforest still standing in Southeast Asia. Located in the Cardamom Mountain Range, the Southern Cardamom REDD+ Project protects one of Asia’s last seven remaining elephant corridors and second predator range in the region. -
ERA Ecosystem Restoration Associates Inc. / Mai Ndombe, DRC ERA Ecosystem Restoration Associates Inc. is a Canadian-based pioneer in forest carbon offset programs and project development. ERA Ecosystem Restoration Associates Inc.has been working in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) since 2009, drawing on long-standing relationships with Congolese forest management professionals and forest-dependent communities to establish the first REDD+ Conservation Contract in country. -
Wildlife Conservation Society / Makira, Madagascar In 2001, the Madagascar Ministry of Environment and Forests, in collaboration with the Wildlife Conservation Society, launched a program to create the 372,470 ha Makira Forest Protected Area. Operating under protected area status since 2005, the Makira Forest Protected Area REDD+ Project (Makira Project) has helped safeguard one of the largest remaining contiguous tracts of low and mid-altitude rainforest in eastern Madagascar. -
Anthrotect / Chocó-Darién, Colombia Anthrotect was founded in 2007 with the mission of making conservation a viable economic alternative for forest-dependent communities worldwide. The Chocó-Darién Conservation Corridor is the first REDD project to be issued credits for activities co-designed and implemented on a community-owned, collective land title. -
Carbon Green Investments / Kariba, Zimbabwe The Kariba REDD+ Project, the largest registered REDD+ project by area, will serve as a corridor between existing national parks, namely Mana Pools, Matusadona and Chizarira national parks.
